This Guidelines is to help you get the most of our online service. We recommend you to read the below to get accurate pricess and to speed up the process of production and delivery.
Accepted Automatically
We only accept vector files for laser cutting and engraving. We currently accept SVG and DXF (more coming soon) in our automatic pricing. If you design your parts in a software that does not export SVG or DXF files you still can send us AI, PDF or DWG formats. We'll take care of the conversion on our end.
Accepted for Manual Pricing
We'll gladly accept all the above files, but these won't work in our automatic pricing at RMD yet. We will support the above files in the near future.
We're here to help you every step of the way in designing your laser-cut parts. Here are some things to keep in mind:
Drawings processed in millimeter
Make sure your measurements are in millimeter when you are drawing on autocad or any other CAD software. After you upload you design to RMD the dimensions of your design will show below your drawing in mm.
Maximum and minimum laser cutting size
The dimensions of the machine’s cutting table determine the size of your design which has to be, at most, 3000mm x 1500mm. Above this measure, it cannot be cut by our machine. There is no restriction regarding the mimimum size as long as it can be cut my the machine.
Laser Cutting and Laser Engraving your Texts
If you need to cut or engrave text, the process is quite simple. Your file needs to be vectorized and Upload Here just like the other materials. For full letters (A, D, O, B, G…) it is better to create a link to separate the inside and the outside of the letter (see the example below) so that the center does not get detached from the rest of the letter and to keep the outer parts of the cut or ‘stencil’. This link makes your text look better and organized
File contains no empty objects or open contours
Open contours is a fancy way of saying your shape is not connected all the way around. The laser will follow the path of your shape. If it stops, so does the laser. Viewing your art as outlines is a quick and easy way to find these
We not only offer laser-quick turn-arounds, but we also offer our service for much less than others. We have a simple formula for pricing your parts.
Minimum Fee
We have a minimum fee of 25 SAR. This covers all the extra details not covered below. Beyond the minimum fee you pay only for the price of each part. For example if your design cost 15.36 SAR it will start at 25 SAR as a starting price as shown below.
Metal + Thickness
We offer a variety of metals in multiple thicknesses. To learn more about what we offer, please see our Available Materials. The thicker the material, the more it will cost.
Design Density
Design density is the intricacy of your part. The more detailed and intricate, the longer it will take for the laser to cut. We measure density in pierces. Each shape requires one pierce from the laser.
